The University of Geneva in collaboration with the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) is pleased to invite you to attend an International Conference on Human and Social Impacts of Major Global and Regional Environmental Changes.

This Conference which will officially launch the new UNIGE-UNEP executive programmes aims to address the impacts of major undergoing environmental changes.
Indeed, the planet is following a new environmental trajectory and an increasing number of stakeholders are alarmed by the prospect of rising unprecedented socioeconomic, political and demographic challenges. Global Change has produced new interconnected issues, such as forced migration and biodiversity, shaping our understanding of upcoming global
crisis and appreciation of new risks. How can global environmental governance deal effectively with these challenges?

In addressing this central question, the changing global environment and the new reading of emerging crisis, University of Geneva and UNEP are engaging a discussion on increasingly interwoven expected but also unforeseen impacts of global change.

The conference’s stimulating lectures will open the rare opportunity to discuss these issues with two of the most prominent scientists and world class experts on impacts of climate change:
